’Hounds fall short at Neosho County
CHANUTE — Fort Scott Community College’s volleyball team was swept by Neosho County here Monday night in Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division play by scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-20.
With the loss, the Greyhounds (0-2 division, 6-5 overall) are tied for last place in the East with Allen. Neosho County, nationally-ranked to begin the season, stands at 2-1 in the division and 8-8 overall.
Fort Scott recorded just an .042 kill percentage in the match. Mykah Wingerter had 8 kills for the ’Hounds while Brittany Barnekoff had 7. Annalise Whitcomb distributed 13 assists. Emily Jackson came up with 15 digs, Laney Ward 13 and Abbie Casper 11. Barnekoff also had 4 solo blocks and 5 in total.
The Greyhounds look to get back on track tonight at Arnold Arena as they face Labette in division play. The Greyhounds are 2-0 versus the Cardinals (1-1, 4-5) this season.
