David Wayne Ward

David Wayne Ward, 52, of Independence, Mo., passed away Friday, July 6, 2018, at his residence. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2018 , at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, Mo. 60452. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington St., Arma, Kan., 66712 with burial to follow in Sheffield Cemetery in Arcadia, Kan.

David was born Aug. 1, 1965 in Fort Scott, Kan., to Johnnie Joe and Beulah May (Hull) Ward. He had worked in construction and lawn care. He enjoyed fishing, collected items and was a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Survivors include: his mother, Beulah Adkins and her husband Robert of Independence, Mo.; three sisters, Virginia Baker and Husband Clay, Susan Gonzales and husband Randy and Michelle Adkins all of Independence, Mo.; two brothers, Chris Morris and Daryl Ward, both of Lexington, Mo.; four step-daughters, Chasity Lang (Jerome Bell), Lisa Lang (Matt Inman), Shannon Hubbard (Thomas Evans) and Sarah Hubbard, all of Independence, Mo.; and 11 grandchildren, Thomas Evans Jr., Makynzlee Evans, Alexia Sheridan, Skyllar Bell, Brooklynn Baker, Dalton Inman, Dacommah Inman, Jager Wirth, Kambreia Inman, Justin Wirth and Joshua Wirth. He was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Naomi Lang in 2016, a brother, Johnnie Lee Ward in 2011, his father, Johnnie J. Ward in 2002, and a granddaughter, Madison Inman in 2010.
