Eagle softball splits at Moran

MORAN — Uniontown’s softball team split with rival Marmaton Valley here Thursday in a Three Rivers League doubleheader. The Eagles won the opener, 11-7, but fell to a Wildcat rally in the nightcap, 7-6.

Keeley Goodridge led the Eagle offense in the opener with 4 hits while Sivanah McAnulty had 3. Karleigh Schoenberger and Mackenzie Woods each had 2.

Eagle pitcher Maddie Ard struck out 4 Wildcats batters as her record improved to 4-2.

Ard had 3 hits for Uniontown (6-4 TRL and overall) in the second game while McAnulty and Jacy Bowen each had 2.

The Eagles led 6-2 after two innings. But the Wildcats (6-6, 6-6) scored 5 runs over the final three innings.

Uniontown plays a league doubleheader Monday at Jayhawk-Linn.
