Eagles swept by Southeast
UNIONTOWN — Southeast outscored Uniontown 25-4 over the course of a Three Rivers League doubleheader here Monday.
The Lancers won game one 13-3 and took the second 12-1, remaining undefeated on the season at 8-0 (league and overall).
Megan Colvin allowed no earned runs on 5 hits and 2 walks while striking out 12 in the opener for Southeast.
Mackenzie Woods was 2 for 2 at the plate for Uniontown (2-2 TRL and overall).
The Lancers led 4-0 before Uniontown got on the board in the bottom of the third. Madison Wilkinson reached base with 2 outs when Southeast’s catcher couldn’t secure a third strike. Errors allowed her to reach third base. She scored from there on another error.
The Eagles scored two more in the bottom of the sixth. Keeley Goodridge reached base on a one-out error. Woods received an intentional walk with 2 out. Makenzee Franklin’s single to center scored Goodridge and Jacy Bowen’s single scored Woods, cutting the deficit to 9-3.
Uniontown’s only run in game two came across the plate in the fifth inning when Maddie Ard singled to right, stole second and scored on Sivanah McAnulty’s two-out single.
McAnulty, Franklin, Ard and Danielle Young each had one of the Eagles’ four hits off McKenna Renn, who walked 2 and struck out 8.
The Eagles will play a TRL doubleheader at St. Paul on Thursday.
