Interviews underway for new USD 234 superintendent

The USD 234 Board of Education is meeting this week to potentially choose the school district’s next superintendent.
The board scheduled special meetings for 3 p.m. Monday and today to hold executive sessions to consider employment for the 2018-19 school year “pursuant to the non-elected personnel exception under the Kansas Open Meetings Act.”
Meetings and interviews were to take place at Fort Scott Middle School.
Board President Jamie Armstrong said Monday board members planned to interview the first candidate, David Jackson, director of operations for Andover USD 385, on Monday and Ted Hessong, superintendent of schools for Marais des Cygnes Valley USD 456, Melvern today.
