Playtime at the dog park

Avery Johnson, left, of Pleasanton, plays with Maverick, a full-blooded German Shepherd Friday afternoon at the dog park located inside Gunn Park. Johnson and Madison Slinkard, also of Pleasanton, took advantage of sunny weather and temperatures in the 50s to get some play time in with Maverick. Johnson said they are training Maverick to be a service dog.
