Northeast boys win; Uniontown swept on Homecoming

NEODESHA — Northeast’s boys won a non-league battle with Neodesha here Friday night, 53-41, improving to 10-6 for the season. No other details were available at press time.

The Vikings play at Yates Center in a key Three Rivers League battle Tuesday night. The first-place Wildcats won a non-league game at Erie, 80-57, Friday night. Northeast is 7-1 in the TRL, one game behind Yates Center.

Pleasanton girls 39, Uniontown 29.

UNIONTOWN —It looked through three quarters as if Uniontown’s girls were going to score an upset over third-place Pleasanton in a Three Rivers League battle here Friday night, leading at the end of each quarter. But the Blu-Jays outscored the Eagles in the fourth, 18-3, to take a 39-29 win.

Karleigh Schoenberger scored 11 points to lead the Eagles (1-8 TRL, 2-15 overall).

Pleasanton improved to 7-2, 10-6, and remained a game-and-a-half behind league leading St. Paul.

Uniontown plays at winless Altoona-Midway Tuesday night.
