Fewell named SEK Offensive MVP

The Southeast Kansas League announced its All-League football team earlier this week and 16 members of Fort Scott High’s team received honors.

Zarek Fewell was voted to the First Team as both a running back and a kick returner. Fewell scored a school record 34 touchdowns this season, tied for second on the league’s all-time single season list, and rushed for a school record 1,960 yards. He was also honored as the league’s Offensive Most Valuable Player.

Also making the First Team were Andrew Callahan and Colby Page, two of the men who paved the way for Fewell, as both offensive and defensive linemen. Derek Bollinger was named at linebacker and Jessie Lawrence was selected as a defensive back.

Seven Tigers were named to the Second Team offense including Lawrence at running back, Jesse Jones at quarterback, Matt Campbell and Gunnar Brown as receivers, Jarrett Shoemaker at tight end and Ben Daniels and Elijah Wright as offensive linemen. Defensively, Mason Couch was selected as a defensive linemen, Alec Michaud as a linebacker and Tyler Gorman as a defensive back.

Honorable Mention went to Treyton Wilson as a linebacker and Dalton Colvin as a defensive back.

Rogan Bruce, a Labette County linebacker, was chosen as the league’s Defensive MVP.
