Northeast shut out in final game of season

ARMA — Humboldt needed a win to be certain it would qualify for post-season play and got it by shutting out Northeast, 58-0, here Thursday night.
Northeast finished Class 3A-District 6 play 0-3 and the season at 0-9. Humboldt (2-1, 7-2) advanced to a first-round Class 3A playoff game that was held at Wellsville Tuesday night.
Humboldt led 33-0 after one quarter. There was no scoring in the second half.
Karter Dugan rushed for 42 yards for the Vikings and passed for 54 yards. Nathan Boswell had 28 yards receiving.
Kenneth Atchison led the defense with 14 tackles. Daniel Balk and Chad O’Banion made 10 tackles each.
