Auctioneer contest comes to Fort Scott

The Kansas Auctioneer's Association held its 10th annual Livestock Auctioneer's Competition Saturday at the Fort Scott Livestock Market. Eight auctioneer's competed during the regular sale.

The 2017 Kansas Livestock Auctioneer Contest champion, Ethan Schuette of Washington, catches a bid while Fort Scott Livestock Market co-owner Larry Martin scans for another bidder. The contest was sponsored by the Kansas Auctioneer’s Association, which chose Fort Scott as the competition site because it is one of the few markets in the state held on Saturdays.
