Tigers take 2 of 3 matches at Columbus
COLUMBUS — Fort Scott High School volleyball took two of three matches here Thursday, breaking a nine-match losing streak in the opener against Girard, 19-25, 25-18, 25-22. The Tigers lost to Pittsburg in a non-league match, 25-19, 25-21, then defeated Columbus, 25-15, 25-11.
Tacy Holston served 3 aces for the Tigers (11-15) versus Girard. Kharsyn Dwyer had 6 kills while Madison Cook had 5.
Dwyer had 11 kills against Pittsburg wghile Adi Lyons had 8 and Cook had 5. Dwyer and Cook each had 6 in the Columbus match while Lyons had 5.
The Tigers will be in Pittsburg Tuesday for Southeast Kansas League matches. They will also take on Coffeyville. Play is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. but the Tigers will likely play the last two matches at approximately 7 and 8 p.m.
