ONLINE FIRST: Greyhound baseball at Colby this weekend

Fort Scott Community College's first-round Region VI Tournament playoff series will be held this weekend at Colby. The Trojans (27-23) fell into fourth place in the Jayhawk Conference-Western Division when they lost three of four games at Dodge City Tuesday and Wednesday. Colby finished tied with Garden City but earned the higher seed on the tie-breaker. Garden City (33-22) will be playing at Kansas City this weekend.

Fort Scott (35-21) had been locked into fifth-place in the Eastern Division after losing the first two games of a weekend series to East champion Cowley on Thursday.

A change in the first-round format has the best-of-three series being played out over three days beginning with Game One on Friday. In previous seasons, the first two games were played as a doubleheader on Saturday with the third game, if needed, held on Sunday. This year, Game One will begin at 3 p.m. Friday with Game Two at the same time Saturday. Game Three, if needed, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday.
