Five Eagles earn All-Three Rivers hoops recognition

Five players from Uniontown were named to the All-Three Rivers League basketball teams, which were released on Thursday.

Uniontown junior Ben George was one of five players selected unanimously to the boys' First Team along with Oswego senior Elijah Elliott, Jayhawk-Linn junior Branden Gray, St. Paul junior Brenden Doherty, and Yates Center sophomore Aaron King. Crest sophomore Hayden Hermreck is also on the First Team.

League champion Jayhawk-Linn just two players picked while runner-up Yates Center also had three and St. Paul had a league-high four picks. Uniontown (8-2, 14-7) tied for third place with St. Paul.

Seniors Cole Sutterby and David Bradbury were named to the Second Team along with Northeast senior Jake McDowell, St. Paul junior Braven Born, Yates Center junior Jordan Smith, and Pleasanton sophomore Kaden McKenn. St. Paul seniors Dylan Dyke and Chandler Struthers, Jayhawk-Linn senior Cole McGrew, Yates Center junior Josh King and Marmaton Valley junior Justice Pugh were named to the Honorable Mention list.

Uniontown saw a pair of seniors chosen to the All-TRL girls' team. Shalina Harper, who finished as the school's all-time leading girls' scorer with 1,325 points, was one of four unanimous selections to the First Team along with St. Paul's Katelin O'Brien, Northeast's Kelsea Choate -- the first Viking girl to score 1,000 points -- and Oswego's Madison Sheddrick. Also on the First Team are St. Paul's Emily Winter and Northeast's Autumn Walker.

Holly Shinn was chosen for Second Team honors along with Oswego's Brenna Vail, St. Paul's Sidney Rice, Pleasanton's Zoe Marshall, and Crest's Laurel Godderz. Honorable Mention went to Chetops'a Cambir Conrad and Megan Wright, Yates Center's Allie Pringle, Marmaton Valley's Kyla Drake, Jayhawk-Linn's Hannah Tingler, and Oswego's Ashlynn Sinclair.
