Ravens sweep 'Hounds in KJCCC opener

Visiting Coffeyville swept Fort Scott Community College by scores of 13-6 and 15-7 in the Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division opener for both teams Thursday at Lions Field.

The Red Ravens (2-0 division, 10-6 overall) belted out 16 hits in the opener and 13 in the second game.

The Red Ravens held a 7-3 lead after three innings of game one and a 6-0 advantage after four innings of the nightcap.

Will Baker and Brandon Kennrich had 2 hits each in each game of the doubleheader for the Greyhounds (0-2, 8-5). Danny Crews his his third home run of the season leading off the sixth inning of game two. Kennrich hit a 3-run shot in the bottom of the seventh to prevent the 8-run rule from taking effect in the second game.

The teams play another conference doubleheader today in Coffeyville starting at 1 p.m. The Greyhounds will also play a home non-conference doubleheader at 1 p.m. Tuesday against the Baker University junior varsity.
