ONLINE FIRST: Uniontown to play for title at Pleasanton

PLEASANTON -- Uniontown's boys, the No. 2 seed, defeated Olathe Heritage Christian in overtime here Thursday night, 46-42, to advance to tonight's championship game of the Pleasanton Mid-Season Tournament.

Colt Sutterby and Jesse Kuns each scored 10 points to lead the second-seeded Eagles (7-3), who won the pool portion of the seven-team tournament.

Uniontown faces top-seeded Humboldt (8-1) for the championship tonight at 7 p.m. in the north gym. The Cubs won the bracket half of the tournament with a 69-24 win over fifth-seeded Oswego.

Uniontown girls 39, Altoona-Midway 11

Holly Shinn scored 18 points to lead the Eagles (3-7) into the tournament's fifth-place game. Shalina Harper added 9 points and collected 4 steals and 4 assists for Uniontown, which would have been eliminated had it lost. Instead, the Jets were ousted following their 31st consecutive loss.

The Eagles will play rival Marmaton Valley in the fifth-place game today at 4 p.m. in the south gym.
