Kelly Nicole Schwartz

Saturday, December 17, 2016

Our beautiful daughter, Kelly Nicole Schwartz, 31, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of December 9, 2016.

Kelly was born March 1, 1985, in Modesto, Calif. After two years in Japan, the family moved to Denton, Texas. She attended Woodrow Wilson Elementary School, Strickland Middle School, and Pilot Point High School, graduating in 2005. In 1994, Kelly was stricken with an illness that left her disabled. Though she had a disability, it did not define her as a person. What did define Kelly was her belief in Jesus Christ as her Savior. The highlight of Kelly's week was worshipping with her RISE class at Denton Bible Church, which serves special needs adults. After church, Kelly and her family frequented her favorite Mexican restaurant, Mazatlan. She also enjoyed Special Olympics bowling, playing dominoes and card games, doing puzzles and art projects, and attending special needs adult dances. She was a huge Elvis Presley fan. Kelly had lots of fun with her many friends at Avid Quality Care Dayhab, Caring Hands.

Kelly is survived by her parents, John and Kathy Schwartz of Aubrey, Texas; two brothers, Steven Schwartz and his wife, Claire of Fort Worth, Texas, and Nicholas Schwartz and his wife, Maddie and their daughter, Rosemary of Benbrook, Texas; grandmother, Clara "Mimi" Schwartz of Fort Scott, KS, as well as uncles, aunts, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Kenneth "Grandpa" Schwartz.

Visitation and funeral service were held, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Denton Bible Chapel, 2300 East University Drive, Denton, Texas. Interment and family graveside service were held, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at National Cemetery No. 1, Fort Scott, Kansas.

Memorial donations can be made in Kelly's honor to the Denton Bible Church Student Ministry Center Building Fund.
