Robert Allen Ball, Sr.

Robert Allen Ball, Sr., age 66, a resident of Humboldt, Kan., died Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute, Kan. He was born Dec. 31, 1949, in Fort Scott, Kan., the son of Harold Ball and Glenda Lamb Ball. He married Laura L. Spainhoward on Aug. 31, 1984, at Uniontown, Kan. Bob spent 22 years in the Kansas Army National Guard. During this time he was either self-employed or employed by Sekan Printing. Later, before his disability, he was employed by Tri-Valley Developmental Services. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Humboldt.
Survivors include his wife, Laura, of the home; Laura and Robert's son, Robert A. Ball, Jr. and wife, Briahna, of Graham, Wash. Robert's children, James, JoAnna, and Jessica Ball. Laura's children Dwane Griffiths and wife, Darlene, of Herrington, Kan., and Joseph Griffiths and Kelli Boone, of Bronson, Kan., and Dawna LeClair of Humboldt, who provided for his care. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, a brother, Richard Ball and wife, Jan, of Argyle, Texas; two nephews, Tony Ball and wife, Lisa and Jason Ball and wife, Crystal and a niece, Kellie Ball; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
At Bob's request, his body was donated to the University of Kansas Medical Center. Arrangements were under the direction of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, Kan. Words of remembrance may be submitted to the online guestbook at cheneywitt.com.
