Cemetery tours begin

Dan Meara shares an anecdote about the life of Lt. Col. Francis R. Wasinger, whose grave is pictured, with a small group of attendees during a tour of St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery Thursday evening. Wasinger, who served in the U.S. Air Force and was also a chaplain, was born in 1924 and died in 1993.
A historical tour of the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery took place Thursday evening. The tour was the first of a planned series of narrated, guided historic tours of local cemeteries hosted by the Old Fort Genealogical Library.
Local historian Fred Campbell will provide a tour of Evergreen Cemetery on Thursday, Sept. 29.
