Fort Scott Community College's volleyball team is ranked 14th in the NJCAA pre-season poll, released Tuesday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, the Greyhounds were picked to finish fourth in Division II of the Jayhawk Conference behind defending champion Johnson County, Coffeyville and Cowley in a poll of circuit coaches.

Fort Scott, 27-10 last season, is one of four Jayhawk Conference teams listed in the NJCAA poll. Defending national champion Parkland tops the poll followed by Lincoln Land, Ill., second and Johnson third.

Coffeyville is listed sixth in the poll with Cowley 12th. Neosho County, picked to finish fifth in the Jayhawk Conference coaches' poll, was one of five teams listed as "Others receiving votes."

Fort Scott's season opens a week from Friday with its season-opening round-robin. The Greyhounds will face Brookhaven and Neosho County on Aug. 26 and the Ottawa JV and Independence on the 27th.
