Ava L. Gibson

Ava L. Gibson, 69, of Fort Scott passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016 at her daughters home in Olathe, Kan. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 at Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Ava was born Sept. 11, 1946 in Fort Scott, Kan., to Alec and Louise Stroud. She attended school in Arcadia, Kan., and married Artie Gibson April 10, 1965, they had six children. She was widowed when Artie passed away at age 38, leaving her to raise their children on her own.

She was preceded in death by her husband in November of 1982.

She is survived by her six children, 34 grandchildren, one grandson in law, seven great grandchildren with two on the way, and one brother in Nebraska.
