Earl White

Earl White, 104, of Prescott, Kan., passed away May 24, 2016 at Fort Scot, Kan. He was born on Dec. 3, 1911 at Barnesville, Kan., the son of Garfield and Fannie Allpress White. He graduated from Fulton High School. He married Laurel Bloomfield on June 25, 1938. Together they ran a truck line and produce store in Fulton, he then ran equipment for Charles Murray, later ran a filling station in Prescott and finally retired as a janitor from Prescott School. He was a member of the Prescott United Methodist Church, volunteer fire department and Prescott City Council. He was preceded in death by a son, Joe White, and a daughter, Reba Ann White, two brothers, Frank and Jim, and four sisters: Leta, Fern, Carrie and Gladys. Earl is survived by his wife Laurel, son Donnie White and wife Kathy, daughter Patty Coleman and husband Geryl, daughter-in-law Shirley White, six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Prescott United Methodist Church, Prescott, Kan. Burial will be in the Barnesville Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. The family suggests contributions to Guest Home Estates or Mercy Hospice.
