Editor's note: This summary has been corrected from what appeared in Friday's edition. In that summary, Chetopa and Yates Center were listed in the wrong order. The Tribune regrets the error and any confusion it may have caused.
Jayhawk-Linn won team honors while Chetopa's Jared Lawellin took the individual crown at the Uniontown Invitational at Woodland Hills Golf Course Thursday.
The Jayhawks shot 365 as a team and were the only ones with every player under 100 strokes. Every member of the team earned a medal. Erie was second at 436 with Yates Center third at 439 and Chetopa fourth at 443.
Uniontown wasn't eligible for the team title because it was only able to use two players. Dylan O'Neal tied for 14th place with Erie's Colton Brown, both shooting 107. Ty Covey finished 20th with a score of 119.
Lawellin shot 81 to finish in first place. Tommy Lankford of Jayhawk-Linn followed with an 84. Remi Wagner of Yates Center finished third over Pleasanton's Brenton Laver after winning a scorecard playoff after each finished with scores of 89.
The top 10 players earned medals. Players from Jayhawk-Linn claimed five of them. In addition to Lankford, Tyler McCoy was fifth with a 92. Levi Sims won a scorecard playoff over Humboldt's Ryan Sellman for sixth after both shot 95. Wyatt Sandness, Kaylor Watson and Treyton Compton all tied with scores of 97 with the scorecard playoff sorting the players out into the order listed.
Uniontown will play at Mound City Tuesday for the Three Rivers League Tournament. The Eagles will also host a Class 2A Regional Tournament at Woodland Hills on May 16.
