Three winners for Eagle track

OSWEGO -- Uniontown's Shalina Harper won two events and Ben George won one at the Oswego track meet here Tuesday.

Harper won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:43 and also won the 1,600 in 6:10. She also finished second in javelin.

George won triple jump with a distance of 37 feet, 8 inches. He also finished fifth in high jump and sixth in the 400 meters.

"Out athletes performed well, some bettering their times or distances from last week, which with the wind was quite an accomplishment," Uniontown head coach Jackie Hall said.

Other girls' medalists included Jimme Keller, who finished second in the 400, fourth in the 200 and fifth in the 100; and Nikki Bollinger, who took fifth in the 3,200.

For the boys, Gavin Miller placed second in javelin; Josh Wisely was fifth in the 200; Zach Schwalm finished fifth in discus and sixth in shot put; and Hayden Miller was sixth in triple jump.

The Eagle varsity will have two weeks off before its next meet, which will be April 19 at Burlington for the Waverly Invitational, which begins at 9 a.m.
