'Hounds, Labette split DH

Fort Scott Community College split a home Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division doubleheader with Labette at Lions Field Thursday. The visiting Cardinals took game one, 8-5. The Greyhounds belted four homers in game two to win 13-3.

Game one was tied 4-4 after five innings. Labette (6-8 East, 13-11 overall) scored 3 runs in the seventh before the 'Hounds recorded an out.

Fort Scott (8-6, 20-6) was held to 4 hits.

Jacob Biller led off the Greyhounds' half of the first inning of game two with a solo homer. He also hit a 2-run shot in a 3-run second, his 7th of the season.

The score was 8-0 after three innings. Gabe Franklin hit a 2-run homer in the fifth. Andrew Tanous hit a solo shot in the sixth.

Biller, Franklin, Tanous and Mackay Williams each had 2 hits for the 'Hounds. Ryan McCullough (4-1) aloowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits and struck out 8.
