Ella Mae Harris

Ella Mae Harris was born Dec. 5, 1929 in Fulton, Kan., to Thomas Frederick Lyons and Nannie Brown Lyons. She died peacefully at her home in Port Angeles, Wash., on Feb. 13, 2016. She was 86 years old.

She is survived by her five children: Lisa Jackson; Flynn Harris, Shane (Susan) Harris, Kimberly (Stephen) Warhoe, and Kye Harris; brothers Chuck Lyons and John Lyons; and 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathryn "Kitty" Jackson and two grandchildren, and her husband William Thomas Harris.

Ella grew up in Fort Scott, Kan., as one of 12 children. She later moved to California and then to Washington State in 1963, where she raised her children.

She also loved to talk about the Bible and share God's promise of a paradise earth. She was baptized in 1960 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and practiced her faith the rest of her life. In lieu of flowers or donations, please spend a few minutes on the website jw.org.
