Middle school 8th graders win four on road

Recent results from Fort Scott Middle School boys' basketball are as follows:

Tuesday at Pittsburg.

The seventh-grade "B" team lost to Pittsburg, 44-17, in the first game of the night. Alex Kerbs led the Tigers with 5 points.

Pittsburg also won the 7A game, 30-13. Connor Gorman was the Tigers' leading scorer with 6 points and also had 5 rebounds.

Fort Scott's eighth-grade teams swept the Purple Dragons. The "B" team took a 21-18 win as Bryce King-Black scored 7 points. The "A" team wrapped up the night with a 38-19 win paced by 13 points from Cooper Bradbury and 10 from Nick King.

Thursday at Iola.

Fort Scott won all four games on the road Thursday. The 7B team defeated Iola, 28-11, as Jamar Franks scored 10 points. The 7A team downed the Ponies, 49-39, as Gavin Pytlowany scored 20 points and Ivan Witt had 16.

The eighth-grade "B" squad followed up with a 29-25 win over Iola as Cody Durossette led the way with 10 points. The 8A team finished off the night with a 37-35 win. Brody Bowles paced the Tigers with 12 points. C.J. Horton had 6 rebounds.

The eighth-grade "A" team will play in a tournament at Iola today. Then the season will wrap up with home games on consecutive days for all four teams. Parsons visits Monday and Iola Tuesday with the first game (7B) tipping off both days at 3:30 p.m.
