'Hound men stay atop division with win over KCK

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Fort Scott Community College's men remain atop the Jayhawk Conference-Division II standings following a 69-57 win over Kansas City Kansas here Saturday afternoon.

The Greyhounds, who have won five straight games, hold a one-game lead over Johnson County with a 3-0 division record and a 9-13 overall mark. Kansas City fell to 3-2, 15-8.

Fort Scott outscored KCK 39-24 in the second half after trailing by two at the break.

Dametrius Walker scored 19 points for the 'Hounds with Jeremiah Fleming contributing 15 on five 3-point field goals and Eddie Sims finishing with 11.

Kellan Turner led the Blue Devils with 15 points followed by Mike Lee Jr. with 14.

This was the first time the 'Hounds have been on the road since returning from the holiday break. They will have another stretch of three straight games at home beginning Wednesday night when Labette (0-4, 5-18) visits for a conference game.
