City commission meeting cancelled

The Fort Scott City Commission meeting scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday has been cancelled due to inclement weather.

The commission's next meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2. City officials decided to combine Tuesday's planned agenda with the agenda for the Feb. 2 meeting, City Clerk Diane Clay said Tuesday.

City officials urge motorists to be careful if they must drive in the road conditions. As of Tuesday afternoon, streets and highways were very slick due to freezing rain that hit the area.
