FSCC to host winter girls' basketball camp
The Fort Scott Community College women's basketball team will host a camp for grades 5-12 on January 3 and 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. each day.
Each camper will receive instruction from coaches and players, a free Greyhound camp T-shirt, and free admission to FSCC home games in January and February. Parents are encouraged to stay at each session and watch the camp.

Cost of the camp is $20, due by December 31.
FSMS 7th graders win tournament
GARNETT -- Fort Scott Middle School's seventh-grade girls' basketball "A" Team won the championship of the Anderson County Tournament here Saturday.
The Tigers began the day with a 29-27 win over Anderson County in the semifinal round. Ella Beth scored 10 points and Kinlee Jones had 8 for Fort Scott. Miranda Arndt had 7 rebounds.
Fort Scott coasted to a 48-7 win over Wellsville in the championship game. Beth scored 14 points while Ashanti Green added 12.
The Tigers played at Iola Tuesday and will play at home against Chanute-Royster Thursday.
FSMS 8th graders finish in third place
GARNETT -- The eighth-grade girls' basketball "A" team from Fort Scott Middle School finsihed in third place in Anderson County Tournament here Saturday. The host school defeated the Tigers in the first round by a score of 29-15. Addi Lyons scored 4 points and had 4 rebounds for Fort Scott. Alexis Rush added another 4 points and Kyra Pryor had 4 rebounds.
The Tigers defeated Prairie View for third place, 32-21. Fort Scott outscored the Buffalos 11-0 in the second quarter. Pryor had 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead Fort Scott. Lyons had 8 points and 5 boards. Tacy Holston also grabbed 5 rebounds.
FSMS played at Iola Tuesday and will be back at home Thursday evening against Chanute-Royster. Both the "A" and "B" teams will play.
Uniontown Jr. High girls sweep Wildcats
UNIONTOWN -- Uniontown Junior High girls' basketball posted a sweep of rival Marmaton Valley here Thursday. The "B" Team began the day with a 19-11 win. Breanna Stokes led the Eagles with 5 points while Becky Goebel had 4.
The "A" Team also won, 20-9. Karlie Schoenberger led Uniontown with 10 points.
The Eagles will host Pleasanton Monday.
