Jackie (Jack) Wayne Hester
Jackie (Jack) Wayne Hester, age 74, resident of Exeter, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov.24, 2015 at St Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. following a brief illness. He was born Jan.26, 1941 in Joplin, Mo., the son of Willis W. Hester and Goldie M. Marple Hester. He worked for 30 years for Eveready Battery Co. in Red Oak, Iowa, and several years for Thorco Industries in Cassville, Mo. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, and when he was younger was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed and excelled at and won many awards for competition trap shooting, loved a game of pool, trips to the casinos and most of all exploring the outdoors.
He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Parr Hester Wolff, her husband, and two grandchildren Benjamin and Shawn Te of Arizona, a niece Marie Doherty, her husband Dan, nieces Barbara Harper and Liz Merriman all of Fort
Scott, Kan., a sister Louise Irelan of Joplin, Mo., and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and friends. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Harold, Buck, Jim, Virgil, Bill and sisters, Lucille, Shirley, Louise and Mary.
There was cremation and there will be a private family memorial service at Konantz Cheney funeral home in Fort Scott, Kan., at a later date.
