COFFEYVILLE -- Fort Scott High scored on each of its six first-half possessions and also had a defensive touchdown here Friday night as the Tigers got back on track with a 49-0 Southeast Kansas League rout of winless Coffeyville at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The Tigers (2-1 SEK, 3-1 overall) got an early interception by Lucas Gillen deep in Golden Tornado territory to set up their first score. Starting at the Coffeyville 29, Fort Scott needed just five plays to get on the board with quarterback Kaleb DeLaTorre's keeper from 3 yards out with 9:06 on the clock.

Coffeyville (0-4, 0-4) punted the Tigers back to their own 6-yard line. But five plays later, Wyatt Tourtillott scored from 78 yards out with Brody Southwell's extra point making it 14-0 with 2:32 to go in the first.

DeLaTorre connected with Marcus Stepps on a 48-yard scoring strike just 10 seconds into the second quarter to make it 21-0.

After the Tigers recovered a fumble in Nado territory, it was five plays to the end zone once again. DeLaTorre scrambled 24 yards to the 10 on the third play. Zarek Fewell ran for 9 yards on first-and-goal and scored on second down with 8:58 remaining in the half.

Fewell tipped a Coffeyville pass to Stepps, who returned it 25 yards for a pick-6 just 56 seconds later, making it 35-0.

Another Stepps interception set up Morgan Stoughton's 2-yard scoring run with 5:24 to go. After Coffeyville turned it over on downs deep in Tiger territory, DeLaTorre completed five straight passes, the last one to tight end Taylor Engstrom for the final score of the night with 1:05 left in the half.

Reserves played most of the second half. A running clock was in effect most of the way.

Fort Scott travels to Prairie View next Friday. The Buffalos lost to Ottawa, 20-13, Friday night.
