Fort Scott High's junior varsity tennis team hosted its second tournament of the season Monday. No team scores were kept. Extra players from participating schools were used to fill out the pools as much as possible after Coffeyville was unable to attend.

Because of Coffeyville's absence, the No. 1 singles pool became a triangular. Aubry Terry played for the Tigers and was 0-2. She lost to Nicole Konopelko of Pittsburg, 6-2, and Janna Greer of Chanute in straight sets.

Mary Schicke played No. 2 singles, going 1-2, as Chanute helped fill out the pool with an extra player. Shicke defeated Chanute's Hannah Hugo, 6-1, and lost to Pittsburg's Kamryn Kelly, 6-1, and Chanute's Shayla Bogle, 6-4.

Fort Scott put two entries in the doubles pools. In No. 1's, Rebekah Sweyko and Mikayla Norris went 1-2 and Savanah Dixon and Calli Colvin were 0-3.

Sweyko and Norris beat Dixon and Colvin in their match-up, 6-0. Maddie Badden/Alexis Pichler of Pittsburg defeated Sweyko/Norris, 6-2, and Dixon/Colvin, 6-2. Laura Benavides and Taryn Seely of Chanute beat Sweyko/Norris, 6-2, and Dixon/Colvin, 6-2.

Britni Addington and Abbie Houston were one Fort Scott team in No. 2 doubles while Patience Richwine and Shaylee Terry were the other. In their head-to-head match, Richwine and Terry prevailed, 6-4. Richwine and Terry also beat Pittsburg's Libby Vogel/Maddie Maple in a tie-breaker, 6-5 (7-3). They lost to Chante's Selena Stich/Nakia Palmer, 6-2, but a 2-1 record was good for second place in the pool.

Addington and Houston lost to Vogel/Maple, 6-1, and Stich/Palmer, 6-3.

The next scheduled outing for the Fort Scott JV is Monday at Parsons.
