The 11 year-old Prime Time River Bandits won the USSSA 11A O'ahu Hawaiian Hitfest NIT Tournament held May 15-17 at Heritage Park in Olathe. In the semifinals, the Bandits defeated the Burlington Strykers 10-4. In an extra-inning championship game, the Bandits brought down the Raymore Shockers 5-4. The Bandits went 6-0 on the weekend.
The annual Hawaiian Hitfest Tournament held in the Kansas City Metro Area is one of the largest baseball tournaments in the country. This year boasted a record 578 teams ranging from ages 8-18.
