L. Doreen (Peck-Sheperd) Christman

L. Doreen (Peck-Sheperd) Christman, 92, of Kirksville, Mo. died March 12, 2015 at Kirksville Manor. She was born Jan. 30, 1923 at Louisa County, Iowa. Doreen was a graduate of Mediapolis High School in May, 1940. She married Floyd O. Sheperd on July 29, 1940. He died Dec. 19, 1980. Doreen married Harold Christman on Aug. 15, 1997. He died Sept. 8, 2014. She was an active life-long member of the Church of God Holiness.

Survivors include two sons, Floyd L. Sheperd and wife, Sandy, of Wheatridege, Colo. and Loyal K. Sheperd of Carl Junction, Mo. Three granddaughters, Judy Perrine and husband Paul; Lynette Sheperd, Marsha Sheperd and one step-grandson, Scott Thomas; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hilda Peck; four sisters: Cleta, Sadie, LaVera and Juanita; three brother: Walter, Donald, Ivan and daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Sheperd.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. April 17, 2015 in Deerfield, Mo., at the Church of God Holiness followed by internment at 12:30 p.m. at Fort Scott National Cemetery by her first husband, Floyd O. Sheperd.
