The Honorable Judge Johnson

Sixth Judicial District Chief Judge Amy L. Harth leads now former county attorney Terri Johnson in the oath of office as a Sixth Judicial District Judge Friday in Linn County. Pictured holding a Bible and Johnson's robe is her husband Allen.
In December, Governor Sam Brownback appointed Johnson to fill a position that opened when Chief Judge Richard Smith retired in January.
Johnson is the second member of the Bourbon County Attorney's Office to become a judge in the past six months. In September, Assistant County Attorney Valorie LeBlanc was sworn in as a magistrate judge.
On Thursday, the Bourbon County Republicans elected Justin Meeks as interim county attorney to fill Johnson's term, which ends in 2016. He had replaced LeBlanc as the assistant county attorney. Brownback is expected to approve the Meeks' nomination within the next week.
