Fort Scott Community College's basketball teams split a Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division doubleheader with Allen at Arnold Arena Saturday afternoon. Greyhound women took a 65-52 victory while Allen's men prevailed, 88-75.

The last time this had happened was in January of 2011 when the Greyhounds beat Allen on the 19th and Highland on the 22nd. Baylea White had 10 rebounds for the 'Hounds. Amanda Cicero dished 5 assists and picked up 4 steals. Fort Scott won the battle of the boards, 47-43, and made 83 percent of its free throws on 19 of 23. Allen made only 6 of 19 charity shots.

Fort Scott led 27-23 at the half.

Allen men 88, Fort Scott 75.

Courtney Stockard scored 24 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished 6 assists and blocked 4 shots for Allen (3-0, 11-9), the division leader. Jordan Nation added 20 points for the Red Devils while Darnell Jones-Bowie scored 15 and Josh Sweet added 11.

Allen made 51 percent of its field-goal attempts on 27 of 53 and went to the free-throw line 39 times, making 27 shots.

Xavier Hunter led Fort Scott (1-4, 7-13) with 20 points. Will Harrington, Devin Knight and Dalton Rose each scored 12. The 'Hounds shot just 37 percent from the floor, going 25 for 67.

Allen led 39-33 at the half. There were 56 fouls called in the game and five players fouled out.

The Greyhounds will host Kansas City Wednesday night in division games that also count toward post-season Region VI Division II Tournament seeding. The women's game tips off at 5:30 with the men to follow.
