Freshmen gridders fall to Paola, 21-6

PAOLA -- Fort Scott High School's freshmen football team fell to 3-2 on the season here Monday night, falling to Paola 21-6 in the Tigers' first road game of the season.

The lone Tiger touchdown was scored on the game's opening drive, capped by a 3-yard run by Jessie Lawrence. Paola went ahead by the end of the period, 7-6, and added touchdowns later by returning the second-half opening kickoff to the end zone and another third-quarter score set up by a blocked punt.

The freshmen will be at home against Independence at 5 p.m. Monday night at Frary Field.
