Tigers sweep, take lead in SEK

COFFEYVILLE -- Fort Scott High School's volleyball team took the lead in the Southeast Kansas League as league play got underway here Thursday night.

The Tigers (2-0 SEK, 12-8 overall) swept Coffeyville, 25-14, 25-17, and Parsons, 25-10, 25-11.

As this triangular was the only one held Thursday night in which all three teams were from league schools, the Tigers lead by one match over Chanute and Independence.

Against Coffeyville (0-2, 5-8), Ashley Cook led with 8 kills while Elisha Hasenplaugh contributed 7. Cook also handed out 8 assists and picked up 5 digs. Katie Gorman led with 18 digs and Hasenplaugh served 2 aces.

In the match against Parsons (1-1, 4-14), Cook had 4 kills, 4 digs and 13 assists. Abi Keating had 6 assists and 4 digs. Hasenplaugh contributed 7 kills and 4 digs. Gorman had 14 digs and Aubree Altic had 5 kills and 7 digs.

The Tigers will play in the Louisburg Tournament today.
