Fort Scott High School's varsity soccer team managed just two shots on goal in a 7-0 loss to Louisburg in the season opener at Ellis Park Tuesday afternoon.

The junior varsity team also lost to Louisburg, 7-0.

The Tigers, missing a few players due to injury, were over-matched as the Wildcats were able to control the ball and keep it in the Tigers' defensive half about 90 percent of the time.

Louisburg attempted 46 shots. Twenty of those were on goal, forcing Tiger goalkeeper Jessie Hodge to be very active. He did make 13 saves, some of which were at point-blank range.

The Wildcats hit the crossbar twice and had several other shots miss by a foot or less.

Sophomore Noah Juarez scored twice and assisted on another goal for Louisburg. His first goal was from a free kick from about 25 yards out in the fourth minute. He assisted on a Tyler Olson goal in the 29th minute which made it 4-0. He also scored the first goal of the second half from a free kick to make it 6-0.

The Tigers will have a week off before going to Olathe to take on Heritage Christian next Tuesday.
