Fight spills into street
An altercation Thursday afternoon at Wall and Margrave streets resulted in the arrest of a local man.
Fort Scott Police Department officers responded about 1:30 p.m. Thursday to a call regarding an incident that stemmed from a disturbance and upon arrival found two male individuals involved in a physical altercation at Wall and Margrave streets.
One of the suspects, 39-year-old Timitri McNack, was arrested by the FSPD and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery. McNack was being held as of Friday in the Southeast Kansas Regional Correctional Center on no bond.
The other suspect in the altercation, Ruben Grant, was listed in the police report as the victim in the incident. Grant was not arrested following the dispute.
FSPD Capt. Shaun West said police recovered two pocket knives, a glass bottle and a section of wood or board that were used by one or more of the parties involved in the altercation. West said there were only minor injuries and no serious injuries reported in the incident. Neither individual was taken to the hospital.
West said the alleged reason behind the altercation was a "financial or property dispute" that resulted in violence.
The Bourbon County Sheriff's Office also responded to the incident.
