City workers expect to repair a warped section of road at Wall and Judson streets sometime later this year.

Barricades have been set up around a section of Judson Street at the intersection, forcing drivers to steer around them on a patch of Judson Street that has bubbled up over time, creating dips for motorists. A pothole on one half of the road is blocked off. However, the dips on the other half of the road can cause problems for drivers.

Parks Supervisor Todd Farrell, who has been filling in recently for Streets Supervisor Chad Brown, who is on vacation, said the bubbling effect on the road has been caused by a bad sub-base.

Farrell said he could not provide an exact time frame for when the road will be repaired, but did say it is part of the city's street program this year.

"It's on the project list," he said. "Once we get a few of the projects done, that one will be started on."

When the road is eventually repaired, workers will "cut out the bad area, dig up the sub-base, rework it and put down new asphalt," Farrell said.
