Robert L. "Bob" George, 72, of Wichita, formerly of Fort Scott, retired Sedgwick County flood plain manager passed away Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014. Visitation with the family present, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday; service, 10 a.m. Saturday both at Cochran Mortuary, 1411 N. Broadway. (Parking from Market Street) Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the Centerville Cemetery near Fort Scott, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; one brother; and one grandson. Survivors include his wife Dora of the home; children, Tami (Joe) Simmons of Elgin, Ill., Shari Brown, Kathy (Brad) Knoer both of New Prague, Minn., Les (Bianca) George of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Robin (Chris) Butwan of Poller, Ga.; sisters, Sandy (Bobby) Schriner of Wichita, Kan., Glenda Crabtree of Cherokee, Kan.; five grandsons; four granddaughters; one great grandson; and three great granddaughters.
