Marilou Johnson, 84, of Girard, passed away Tuesday morning Aug. 5, 2014 at her home. She was born April 1, 1930 in Cato, Kan., the daughter of Neal B. and Rose Arnita (Simpson) Smith. She married Bobbie E. Johnson May 14, 1950 in Fort Scott, Kan., and he preceded her in death Jan. 10, 1983.

Marilou worked at Citizens National Bank for several years and then worked at the Bourbon County Courthouse for the Department of Motor Vehicles. She then worked in Crawford County for the W.I.C. program.

Survivors include her two daughters, Kathy Farmer of Girard, Kan., and Elaine Ann Davis of Tucson, Ariz.; her son, Ken Johnson of Fort Scott, Kan.; a sister, Carolyn Corral, Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Bobbie, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Lela Simpson will conduct graveside services for Marilou at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014 at the Memory Gardens of Bourbon County Cemetery under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
