County Commission chairman unseated
No matter what the outcome of the November General Election, there will be a new person representing District One on the Bourbon County Commission.
Republican candidate and incumbent Allen Warren was defeated in Tuesday's Primary election.
Warren, who received 240 votes to Lynne Oharah's 276, waited for returns at the courthouse with his wife, Jackie, to await the results.
"The voters have spoken," Warren said following the results becoming available. "I wish Lynne well."
Democrat Clinton Walker received 116 votes in the race for the commission seat.
The race Bourbon County Sheriff will continue into November as candidates were unopposed in the Primary.
Incumbent and Republican candidate Bill Martin garnered 1,189 votes to opponent Mike Feagin's 388.
Martin was with his wife, grandson and Undersheriff Ben Cole to wait for the results.
"I just need the momentum I have now being pushed to November," Martin said after results were posted. "I still have a lot of people to see. Anybody is welcome to come and talk to me."
