Doris Iva Wimberley

Doris Iva Wimberley, 95, of Fort Scott, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014 at Medicalodge in Fort Scott. She was born Dec. 18, 1918 in Copeville, Texas, the daughter of William Peagram and Mattie Mae (Jones) Proctor. She married Charles A. Wimberley June 28, 1964 in McAlester, Okla., and he preceded her in death in 1993.

Doris is survived by two daughters, Jill Bardwell of Plano, Texas, and Wanda May of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Jewel Proctor of Kilgore, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Edna Sowder of Fort Scott, Kan.; two granddaughters, Sue White, and Angela Neale, and four grandchildren, including Ricky Peoples. In addition to her husband, Charles, Doris was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Wayne White, and Jerry Sowder, and a brother, Odell Proctor.

Following cremation, private interment will take place at the Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 West Wall Street, Fort Scott, Kan. Condolences may be emailed to expressions@konantz-cheney.com
