Gilbert Everett Hall
Gilbert Everett Hall, 88, of Columbia, Mo., passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia.
Everett was born to Omer Jay and Amelia Grace Seaman Hall in 1925. He was the youngest of seven children and graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1944. On Feb. 14, 1951, Everett married Winniefred Patricia Campbell for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Everett worked as an accountant for several companies in Kansas and Missouri. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held positions in several church organizations. Everett and Winniefred served in the St. Louis Temple, the Family History Center and as church missionaries in Georgia and South Carolina.
Everett was also active in several other organizations; Amaranth, Eastern Star, White Shrine, and the Masons. He was a member of Hickory Hill Lodge No. 211 AF&AM. He served several times as Worthy Patron of Eugene Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. A sojourner of Charity Shrine, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, serving as Watchman of Shepherds. Sir Knight Gilbert was a past royal patron of both Sunshine Court No. 3 and Eternal Court No. 17, Order of the Amaranth. He held several grand offices in the Grand Court of Missouri, Order of the Amaranth.
Everett is survived by sons Jay Hall of Sapulpa, Okla., Kevin (Darcia) Hall of Columbia, Mo., and Loren (Danne) Hall, of Dixon, Mo.; daughters Kerry Hall of Mokane, Mo., and Linell (Bradley) Kingsford of Chubbuck, Idaho; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and brother Richard Hall of Fort Scott, Kan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Winniefred; son, John Hall; three brothers, John, Donald, and Bill Hall; and two sisters, Louise Saker and Louella Martin.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home in Fort Scott, Kan. Visitation will be at noon prior to the funeral service with burial following in the Centerville Cemetery in Devon, Kan.
