Post 25 sweeps Santa Fe Trail

OVERBROOK -- Fort Scott American Legion Post 25 baseball opened its season with a sweep of Carbondale Post 239-sponsored Santa Fe Trail here Tuesday night.

Post 25 won the opener 16-4 and the nightcap 11-0.

Wyatt Reehl allowed 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 6 as he pitched the first 5 innings of the opener. Jake Bradbury was 3 for 4 at the plate. Chase Brown hit a double and a triple and drove in 2 runs. Alex Fink hit an inside-the-park home run.

In game two, which ended after 4 innings, Jake Durossette pitched 4 innings, striking out 7 while allowing 2 hits and 3 walks.

Brown drove in 2 runs to lead the offense, which needed only 5 hits to score its runs.

Post 25 was scheduled to host Parsons Thursday. It is also scheduled to host Garnett Tuesday.
