Outstanding sophomore

Jacie Sweeney, was awarded the annual Fort Scott Community College Outstanding Sophomore of the Year Award on Friday afternoon at Ellis Fine Arts Center. Sixty-one students met the initial eligibility criteria for nomination which are: they must be degree seeking, have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and be eligible to walk at graduation. Of these, six students chose to submit applications for the award: Wesley Bantley, Drew George, Josh Griffith, Brysen Russell, Sweeney and Jessica Wells. The six were voted on by all faculty and staff at the college. (Loretta George/Tribune)
