FSCC volleyball to host 'Color Jam' May 24

The Fort Scott Community College volleyball team will host the first annual Fort Scott Color Jam 5K on May 24 at 9a.m. The run will be similar to the ever popular "The Color Run." The Fort Scott Color Jam 5K will also feature a one mile kids run. Registration online is now open at https://www.gorunyourrace.com/Event/Event/35.

The purpose of the Fort Scott Color Jam 5K is to promote health and wellness in the community and surrounding communities by having as much fun as possible. Particpants will receive a white T-shirt with each registration so that they can display all the color at the end. All runners, walkers, strollers and groups are welcome to enjoy a different color of powder thrown on them at each kilometer mark. At the finish line, there will be a finale color throw, filling the air with millions of vivid colors.

The Fort Scott Color Jam 5K will also be hosting a tent party at the finish line for the team or group with the most participants. Those who whish to enter teams need to round up as possible and make sure to submit the team's name when registering.

The event will begin and end at the college. Preregistration fees are $30 for the Color Jam and $10 for the kids run. Cost between May 6 and 21 will increase to $35 for the 5K and $12 for the kids' run. On race day, the fees will be $45 for the Color Jam and $15 for the kids' run.
