Treasurer extends hours, adds remote tax collection locations

Wednesday, April 30, 2014

In order to add more services to taxpayers who need to pay the remainder owed on their 2013 taxes, the Bourbon County Treasurer's Office will extend its hours and add remote collection sites.

The second half of property taxes is due May 12.

Beginning Thursday, the Treasurer's Office will have extended hours, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Beginning May 5, staff from the office will serve in remote locations from 4 to 7 p.m. Taxpayers are asked to bring their tax statement if possible, but it is not required to make their payments, Treasurer Rhonda Dunn said.

The following schedule has been set. A date for Mapleton residents has not been confirmed.

Monday, May 5, Garland, Drywood Community Building.

Tuesday, May 6, Uniontown, in the high school commons area.

Wednesday, May 7, Fulton, Fulton City Hall.

Friday, May 9, Bronson, Public Library

"I think it's a nice service to tax papers in these areas," Dunn said. "If it helps them out, great. We'll use the website when we can and hopefully it will be a benefit to the taxpayers. If it works out, we'll expand on it and do it again next year."
